when the words don’t fit

by Kamala K Brown
sharing soul-led work
There’s often a quiet dissonance that arises when soul-led people share their work with the world.
The guidance is to create a brand, a funnel, to have a marketing strategy and map it all out. And this can feel quite alien from what has been created which is often a prayer. A lived experience. A remembrance.
when the framework doesn’t fit
So the friction begins in that tender space between how what we offer comes through, and how we are told to do it.
The language we speak in our work matters — and sometimes, it needs to be rewritten to reflect the heart of what we carry.
I’ve felt it deeply with the centred soul app. I created something that came from silence, the wisdom of grief, devotion, and trust. Then came the invitation to “market” it — but the language didn’t feel like it belonged to the soul of what came through. It made my nervous system tense.
I knew what I was doing. I was clear. But I was being handed a framework that didn’t fit the work — or me. Voices outside me seemed to ring:
“it isn’t a business unless it follows a certain model.”
“If it doesn’t scale, convert or produce, it’s just a passion project.”
the wisdom in the pause
Those voices made me question whether what I’d created even counted as real or valid. And slowly, I began to pause in talking about it. Not because I was lost… but because thats how I was being guided within.
And I can only see that now. But at the time I had felt that a part of me felt frozen, and I wondered if I was just being avoidant. I questioned why am I not shouting about my work ?— and something deeper in me held the pause.
In hindsight, I see now: there was a quiet wisdom at play. A natural rhythm that wanted to be acknowledged.
we don’t force becoming — we allow it
During that time, I kept seeing this image — of me shouting at a rosebud to bloom. I have roses in my garden, and I’ve watched them for days. Then suddenly, they arrive — silent and stunning — as if to say, “You can cajole all you want, but we bloom when we’re ready.”
And maybe that’s the truth of it: we don’t force becoming. We allow it.
This energy has always been inside the centred soul app. I just needed to feel it more clearly so I could find the words for it.
from monocrops to medicinal gardens
I couldn’t move forward because I was trying to plant a medicinal garden using the tools designed to cultivate monocrops. The strategy didn’t match the soul of what I was growing.
So I pulled back. And I began to reframe — not by rushing into new language, but by sitting in the quiet and asking: What does these words really mean to me? I listened.
reframing with the nervous system in mind
I noticed what words made my nervous system soften, and what made it contract. I paid attention to the way certain words landed — and where they didn’t.
And slowly, the deeper meaning began to emerge:
🌹 what is marketing on a soulful path? At its core, marketing isn’t about convincing.
It’s about inviting resonance — creating a field where those who are meant to find you can feel their way in.
It’s a remembering, not a grasping.
It’s letting yourself be felt, not just seen.
🌹 what is content? Content, for many, is output. For soul-led work, it’s offering.
It’s a message from a deep place. It doesn’t perform. It pulses.
🌹 what is a product? A product is often positioned as a thing.
But what if it’s a living offering — the result of devotion, working with the presence of benevolent energy, shaped in rhythm, tenderly held?
Something not to be consumed, but to be experienced.
🌹 what is selling? Selling, in this light, is simply serving.
It’s an invitation to walk alongside something you believe can bring healing, clarity, presence.
Honouring the offering is the foundation and starting point not reaching out for outcomes.
🌹 what is a brand? Branding is often seen as a logo, a tagline, a visual identity — something polished and packaged to be seen.
But for soul-led work, a brand isn’t something you create — it’s something you live. A bee doesn’t choose its black and yellow stripes. It doesn’t design its hum. Yet you know it when you encounter it — because you feel it. That’s its brand: a lived, energetic signature.
In the same way, your true brand is what’s felt through presence, not performance. It’s recognition, not invention. Not packaging — but pattern.
Not strategy — but essence, lived over time.
🌹 and revenue? In a traditional model, revenue is seen as proof of success — numbers, outcomes, growth.
But for soul-led work, revenue is simply one form of reciprocity. An energy exchange that helps the offering continue, with integrity and care.
Just as crop doesn’t bloom from one field alone, sustainability comes from allowing support to arrive from many directions — trusting the cycle, not forcing the yield.
When received in alignment, revenue becomes part of the ecosystem. Not the goal, but a way the work is nourished.
why words matter — and when they miss
The reframing is not because the words themselves are wrong — but because their mainstream meanings didn’t fit for me. For those who are creative, intuitive, or sensitive, moving from organic creation into structure can feel disorienting — like you’re losing your centre.
But when aligned and where structure assists expressing the heart of what’s been created, the reframing supports truth beautifully because it invites grace and honours what comes through as sacred.
sharing with resonance, not urgency
I’ve also been reflecting on how often psychological tools are used in ways that subtly bypass the soul — urgency, scarcity, pain points — designed to trigger fear or lack. I’ve felt it myself: buying something in a moment of contraction, only to later wonder, “Why did I say yes to that?” because it wasn’t out of resonance but fear, lack or urgency.
Over time, that kind of selling doesn’t just create mistrust toward the offering — it can create mistrust in ourselves. In our own intuition.
And I had to ask: do I want to be part of that noise? Right now I believe resonance is a better compass than pressure.

compass over clock
I’d rather someone find the centred soul app in a quiet moment of alignment, than in a rush of panic or persuasion.
That’s why I’ve chosen a different path – One that may grow slower — but grows in truth.
However, clarity of the path I walk doesn’t mean ease. Ive had to find language that didn’t make me wince. To describe what Im offering in a way that feels true in my body — not just in my mind.
To make sure the way I speak to the world honours the way the offering came through me.
where language touches a wound
This is where the work begins: To notice where a word can be softened… and where it touches a wound. Because for many of us reciprocity or visibility isn’t just resistance — it’s ancestral, it’s nervous system-based. It’s the voice that says:
“Be safe” or “ If this is sacred work it should be offered for free”
So we have to ask gently:
🌹 Am I reframing to stay in integrity? Or to hide?
🌹 Am I softening because something feels sacred? Or because I’m afraid to be seen?
🌹 Is this language constraining me — or confronting me?
the sacred work of not fitting in
This is the honest place where soul meets structure. Not to perform, but to integrate.
If you’re navigating this right now — I see you. You’re not alone.
And if you’re offering work that feels more like a presence than a product, more like a gift than a pitch — you’re doing sacred work.
You’re not broken because it doesn’t reflect a mainstream model. You’re not “just doing a passion project.” It’s okay if what you’re building doesn’t fit traditional moulds. You are embodying a new way of working altogether.
This is a paradigm shift.
And that’s no small thing.
We just need a new language.
universal reframing
And this might sound like it’s only for practitioners — but it’s not. Because the truth is, so many of you who use the Centred Soul app are already creatives, intuitives, sensitive beings… change-makers in quiet, powerful ways. This space was created for you.
And that’s what I hope to offer and understand more deeply. A vocabulary for truth. A map that softens the noise. A way to stay close to what matters.
a different kind of call to action
As I write this, I can hear a voice rise up in me —asking:
“But where’s the call to action?”
So here it is, plain and clear:
🌹 Explore: What is the feeling of what you do or offer? How does it feel in your body?
🌹 Reflect: How do you receive it not from your thinking mind but from your heart? What vocabulary (words, sounds, smells. textures, image) do you use to describe it?
🌹 Notice: Do you feel anything in what I’ve shared? Does it stir, soften, or confront something in you?
This is an invitation to deepen awareness. Where might you reframe? Do you even want to? Let that be enough. Let your noticing be sacred.
walking with fear, choosing what’s true
And yes — I hear the other voice too. The one that says using a more soulful language and approach in a world of shouting voices doesn’t put food on the table or pay the rent. Also the one that shouts bucking the system is only for those who already have stability.
Yes. Hands up. The soulful path is not for the faint of heart. And it doesn’t always look ‘normal.’ It rarely fits in clean boxes, nor does it play by dominant rules, or have streams of funding already in place.
But here’s what I’m learning: Trust and faith doesn’t mean fear disappears. They mean you walk with the fear, through the vulnerability, and still choose what’s true. That walk is grounded and resourceful, creative and trusting. It can also look messy and doubtful; feel heavy and lonely. Living your “best life” doesn’t mean you feel no pain, or don’t have struggles – it means you tend to your spirit whilst walking through the different terrain – living your best life is not abandoning yourself when your life doest look “perfect”.
So remember, if you’re terrified — it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It probably means you’re right where you’re meant to be.
And if you’re wondering:
“But what am I following if not a formula?”

The answer isn’t “nothing” Its rhythm.
Its more like being a seed on the wind —
Not lost, but carried. The seed has a purpose – you have a purpose.
The purpose of centred soul is to support people to find thier centre, to offer a helping hand. The wind is allowing it to be carried by something thats bigger than it – whatever word resonates for you – the universe, energy, the divine, god, brahma, mother earth, nature and many many others.
The seed + the wind = rhythm.
The seed doesn’t steer the wind — but it was made to ride it.
It’s not aimless. It’s attuned. It rides the pulse of what wants to move.
The rhythm doesn’t come from control, but from trust.
This doesn’t mean that strategy, launches and funnels are wrong — it just needs to follow its unique rhythm, not override it.
That kind of rhythm can’t be forced. But it can be felt.
each flower in its own time
Each flower is different, and each blooms in its own time, in its own way. Each has its own kind of medicine. So do you.
To find your rhythm, begin by listening.
Not just to your thoughts — but to your body. Notice:
🕊️ What energises your heart?
🕊️ What words, colours, textures, sounds, images feel alive — and which ones constrict?
🕊️ What softens your breath?
🕊️What makes you feel joy?
your body already knows
Rhythm lives in the small, everyday signals.
Like the moment your body knows when to scratch an itch.
Like the natural pause between breaths — not rushed, not planned, but perfectly timed.
Take a moment now. Notice your breath. The rise, the fall.
You didn’t need to organise it.
Your body already knows its rhythm.
And that same knowing lives in your creative process, your work, your way of offering, your relationships.
readiness arrives without a deadline
In creating this soul note — I didn’t know when I’d share this.
Just a quiet sense that one day, I would.
And when the moment came, it was because something inside felt ripe.
The feeling of ripeness is intuitive — reflect on where that’s happened in your life
A good way to check for ripeness is to ask within:
– Is this urge coming from urgency?
– Or is it rising from listening? (to felt sense, a knowing and maybe words expressing that feeling can be heard within).
let rhythm lead the way
That’s how rhythm begins to show itself.
Not in a content calendar — but in the space where presence meets timing. By all means plan, you need to aim for something, but let the deeper listening lead the way.
Rhythm reveals itself when we stop performing and start listening. When we notice and connect with the dog instead of trying make the tail wag.
When we choose resonance over rush, presence over pressure.
When we honour the pulse of what we carry, not the pressure of how it’s “supposed” to go.
you’re not off track — you’re attuning
So if you’re not following a formula, you’re not off track.
You might just be attuning.
You’re listening for the deeper beat. And finding that beat means we see and clear what might be obstructing it – sometimes called ‘doing the work’.
